A Good Start as a Start-Up in the GATEWAY49 Hub

It was an honour for us to welcome Dirk Schrödter, Head of the State Chancellery and Digitalisation Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, when he officially handed over the AI funding notification to our start-up TOOLTIP at the GATEWAY49 hub today.

After an inspiring introduction to the GATEWAY49 Accelerator programme by programme manager Stefan Stengel, Dr. Dmytro Borysenko presented our exciting project ‘Applied AI for metalworking SMEs’".

TOOLTIP CEO presents applied AI project

TOOLTIP offers an intelligent tool search for CNC manufacturing. Thanks to the generous AI funding from the state, we can now press ahead with the development of AI technology for our platform. This not only allows us to reduce production planning time by up to 90%, but also to reduce tool costs per component, minimise error selection and reduce routine within production planning.

The successful cooperation between the institutions in the Schleswig-Holstein start-up ecosystem is illustrated by TOOLTIP's success story: we were founded in April 2022 during our participation in the GATEWAY49 accelerator programme. WTSH GmbH not only assisted us with the application for AI funding, but also offered technical support and expertise from university partners. MBG Schleswig-Holstein mbH is now co-financing the project. It is inspiring to see how this synergetic collaboration leads to success.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone involved in this event: Jörg Nickel, Head of the State Chancellery's ‘Digital Change’ department, Hinrich Habeck, Managing Director of WTSH GmbH, Leonid Kock, Project Manager of the WTSH's AI Transfer Hub Schleswig-Holstein, Daniel Müller from the State Chancellery's press office, Artem Maidanovych, Project Manager at TOOLTIP, and Dr Hermann Junghans, CDU Member of Parliament for Lübeck East.
